Priority Patient Transport provides non-emergency medical transportation, including wheelchair, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Life Support (ALS) transports. Our services are designed for patients who require medical monitoring or assistance during transport. Is Priority Patient Transport an emergency ambulance service?
Priority Patient Transport offers limited 911 services with certain facilities. For immediate or life-threatening emergencies, patients and families should call 911.
How do I schedule a transport?
Transports can be scheduled by calling our dispatch team at (888) 774-2621. Patients, family members, healthcare facilities, and case managers may all request transport.
What information is needed to schedule a transport?

To help us schedule your transport as smoothly as possible, we may ask for the following information:

How far in advance should I schedule a transport?
We recommend scheduling your transport at least one week in advance whenever possible. While we occasionally accommodate same-day or next-day requests, availability depends on current resources and scheduling.
Can healthcare facilities schedule transport on behalf of a patient?
Yes. Hospitals, nursing facilities, and other healthcare providers may coordinate transport directly with our dispatch team.
Do you transport patients with oxygen, IVs, or medical monitors?
Yes. Our crews are trained and equipped to transport patients requiring oxygen, IV therapy, and continuous monitoring.
Do you provide bariatric transport?
Bariatric transport may be available depending on patient needs and equipment availability. Please discuss specific requirements with dispatch when scheduling.
Who will be caring for the patient during transport?
All transports are staffed by licensed EMTs and/or paramedics, depending on the level of care required.
Can a family member ride along with the patient?
Ride-along availability depends on patient condition, space, and safety considerations. This can be discussed with dispatch at the time of scheduling.
Do you coordinate with hospitals and healthcare facilities?
Yes. We work closely with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing facilities, and case managers to ensure smooth and timely patient transfers.
What geographic areas do you serve?

Priority Patient Transport provides both local and long-distance medical transportation services. All transports must begin or end in Virginia.

Our primary service areas include:
